Makes a wonderful bar and table top display. The actual lighthouse was first lit in 1803 to warn ships away from the
treacherous Diamond Shoals, but has since moved farther inland due to
receding shorelines. It is the tallest lighthouse in the U.S. and one of
the tallest in the world. It's nickname is the "Big Barber Pole"
because of its unusual striping, which was a result of a mix-up by the
