Q: Want to use this for a drawbridge but will probably need 2 or 3 sets on each side. Do the end pieces open so they can connect to each other?

A: The links are molded plastic and do not open; perhaps, you could use a carabiner (similar size and shape), zip-tie or wire to connect the chain to the drawbridge.
