Invitations
Use evite to create a more distinctive party invitation that will create excitement. Then use Facebook to send a follow-up of the details, otherwise your party invite is more likely to get lost in the Facebook clutter. For a dinner party, a personal telephone call with a follow-up email of the details is recommended.

More details on inviting guests at Cocktail Party Planning and Dinner Party Planning.
Personal attire
Set the tone by dressing in the spirit of your Snowman Winter setting. Not only does this reinforce your theme, but it also lightens the mood and makes your guests more comfortable.
Furthermore, when you make this extra effort, your guests will want to get in on the fun by dressing up for your future parties. This is how your great parties will become more spectacular over time.
You can make it as dressy or casual as you want your party to be. For a more refined look, use your theme colors, white with a red scarf. If you want it to be more "costumy", add a top hat with holly and a pipe. Or if you are looking for more outrageous, also blacken your eyes and wear a carrot nose.
Cocktail Glasses
I strongly recommend always using real glasses for cocktails. Although they are inexpensive and a great investment for future parties, if you cannot afford to buy them, rent them.
In addition, if you entertain during the holidays, winter season glasses add an extra dose of cheer. I simply replace the standard cocktail glasses with the winter ones each season. Extend their usefulness by buying snow or winter themed glasses and use them through the holidays and throughout the winter season.
Color
Use your theme colors throughout your home. Dig out everything you can find in white, red and your accent color, you will be amazed how much you have without buying a thing. Replace throw pillows, bedding, bath towels, and throw rugs for the occasion.
Clear vases are another portable way to add color to a dull spot. Fill with red marbles, balls, stones, or ornaments or use a combination of white & red. Or use white and/or red mini-lights or white or red floralytes in a glass bowl or vase.
Picture Frames
Print out pictures of snowmen and put them out in your picture frames. For an extra touch, use paper in your theme colors to matte your snowman photos. And, if you want to get really detailed, insert a snowman into one of your family photos.
Flowers
Flowers are always a nice touch and are appropriate for any occasion. For a Snowman Winter party use large white chrysanthemums or a white arrangement with a few red carnations or roses inter-mixed.
Use a single red Gerbera daisy against a neutral background for a striking splash of color. Drop a submersible white or red floralyte in your flower arrangement vase to create a more dramatic effect.
Create A Scene
If you have a large space to fill, take a pair of ski boots, ski pants, and skis, and make a scene of a crashed skier. Build a snow drift by covering a large chair with artificial snow cover.
Stuff the ski pants with newspaper and attach the ski boots to the skis. Insert the foot end of the pants in the boots to make the bottom half of a skier. Arrange the 'skier' so that it appears he has landed head first into the snow drift.
