Conjure a symphony of subtle sophistication with the lustrous charm of faux pearls and rugged exteriors of oyster shells.
Our pearl-inspired table is set with a modern and somewhat minimalist aesthetic embracing an understated palette of grey, sliver, and white.
This elegant tablescape features a grey tablecloth as a neutral base, complemented by metallic silver chargers and white napkins folded into bow-like designs, each cinched with a pearl bead necklace napkin ring.
The centerpiece is an arrangement of oyster shell garlands, interspersed with oversized simulated pearls crafted from Christmas ornaments, placed on varying silver and glass candlestick holders to create a dynamic height effect.
At the center, a cluster of these ornament pearls surrounds a large central pearl on a silver candlestick, with smaller faux pearls scattered about to complete the design.

Additional Supplies
- Round Christmas ornaments - assorted sizes 2-4" (x18)
- 5" ball, sphere, or Christmas ornament
- Candle holders (x19)
- White spray paint primer
- DecoArt "pearls" paint
- Faux white pearls in assorted sizes
Step 1: Paint Pearls
- For the oversized pearls, I painted round Christmas ornaments in 3 sizes
- First, make a rack to hold the ornaments in place & prevent spinning
- I used coffee stirrers & toothpicks in a cardboard box
- For larger openings, you may need to use a clamp on the metal hanger loop
- Then, apply white spray paint primer as needed to cover color
- For the large center pearl, I used a 5" plastic ball
- When dry, reattach hanger caps, if removed
- Use a sponge brush to paint with DecoArt "pearls"
- This adds a subtle luminous effect that doesn't show up very well in the photo
- If you know of something with a more dramatic effect, please let me know!
- Hang to dry; I used an ornament tree
Step 2: Paint Candlesticks
- The hanger cap/ornament neck fits perfectly in taper candle holders
- Use a mix of glass & silver candle holders
- I needed more silver candle holders so I painted a few
- I used DecoArt Metallics on some & metallic spray paint on others for variety
Step 3: Set the Scene
- Start with a neutral grey tablecloth
- Create a center focal point with a cluster of ornament pearls on candlesticks around the large 5" pearl
- Lay an oyster garland on each side of the center pearl cluster
- Add pearls on candlesticks along and on the oyster shell garlands
- Scatter the assorted white pearls along each side
Guest Experience
- Metallic silver chargers make a nice complement to the silver candlesticks
- I folded the napkins in a bow-like design
- And used pearl bead necklaces as napkin rings
- You could also add an oyster shell with a faux pearl to the charger for a fun touch
Add to the excitement and overall experience with unique and thoughtful details.
