Who says nutcrackers are just for Christmas? This off-duty wine steward is bringing bold color, cheeky charm, and full-bodied vino vibes to the table—no snowflakes required.

This isn’t just a centerpiece—it’s a conversation starter. It’s a little unexpected. It’s a little rebellious. And that’s the whole point: your table should say something.

Wine Not Break the Rules?
I was just thinking the other day—why do nutcrackers only get to come out during the holidays? I mean, I eat nuts year-round. And honestly, I love the charm, intrigue, and personality of all the nutcracker variations out there.
Sure, The Nutcracker Suite is a holiday tradition (and I adore it), but why should Christmas get exclusive nutcracker rights?
So I decided: no more seasonal gatekeeping.
A nutcracker can absolutely be the star of a table centerpiece any time of year. After all, we’re here to be bold, break a few “rules,” and create centerpieces that surprise, delight, and dare to be different.
Once I made that call, this little wine steward practically styled himself. Dressed in wine-red and black with a grape-filled barrel for a hat, he became both the muse and the anchor.
Nutcracker Platform

It all came together faster than a bottle disappears at girls’ night.
- Start with a gold charger or similar as your base.
- Center a floral foam disc, then surround it with English ivy garland.
- Add alternating red and green grape clusters, securing with 2.5" floral picks.
- Hot glue the nutcracker to the floral foam—he’s the guest of honor, after all.
Set the Scene

- Layer a deep-red velvet fabric runner over a black tablecloth.
- Place the nutcracker platform in the center.
- Evenly space two wine bottles on each side, then insert wine cork candles.
- Weave ivy garland segments from the center through the bottles to the ends.
Guest Experience

- Match your deep-red cloth napkins to the runner.
- Finish it off with gold flatware for polish and pop.
