An angel of the sea rises in gold and velvet blue, bringing quiet grace to the holiday table.

A soft mix of coastal calm and holiday shimmer, this centerpiece centers around a seaside angel holding a white starfish in a gesture of peace.
Her gown—washed in pale blues with gold at the edges—catches the glow of fairy lights that ripple across a navy velvet runner. Glass trees sparkle nearby, coral adds gentle texture, and scattered pearls drift like bubbles through the scene.
It’s a quiet, elegant take on the season—where ocean tones meet a touch of Christmas light.

How It Comes Together

The design builds on layers of color, light, and subtle movement. Start by laying a blue crushed velvet or panne runner over a white base for rich contrast. The shimmer catches light like gentle ripples on water.
Drill small holes in a 3–4" wood disc to hold the glitterball (5/16" bit) and aqua-and-gold leaf sprays (1/4" bit)—this creates the angel’s glowing backdrop and adds height behind her. Optionally, paint a riser metallic gold to elevate the far-left tree and balance the composition.
Place the angel slightly off-center with the floral sprays rising behind her. To the left, group two pearl glass trees—one tall, one small—with the riser for variation in height. Arrange white, natural, and aqua coral to frame the scene and an additional small pearl glass tree on the right.
Weave in crackle ball and fairy lights, scatter assorted pearls and mini gold ornaments, and finish with starfish accents that tie everything together.
The result feels layered and luminous—a peaceful coastal glow that captures both light and spirit.
Why It Works

- Soft contrast.
Gold and pearl tones warm up the blues and keep the palette balanced. - Natural rhythm.
Varying heights—from the trees to the coral—create flow without clutter. - Subtle sparkle.
Crackle lights, glitter accents, and metallic finishes echo the look of sunlight on water. - Balanced asymmetry.
The angel and trees create visual harmony without perfect symmetry, giving the scene a relaxed, natural flow.
