Tune in to the primitive sounds and tribal look of this tropical version of the Kalimba aka thumb piano at your Hawaiian Luau or island party. Played with the thumbs, this westernized version of the 3000 year old African Mbira musical instrument is made by attaching metal tines to a polished coconut shell and features abstract artwork of a sea turtle or salamander.
Approximately 4" tall (with tines) x 5-5.5" diameter
5-6 oz weight
Polished & painted coconut, metal, wood
Decorate with culturally inspired, tribal accents and musical instruments to capture the indigenous, ceremonial spirit of a tropical island.

Sound and Look Great
The kalimbas that I recently ordered arrived quickly, well packaged and perfect. They sound and look great. I had been afraid that maybe they were just decorative, but they are real musical instruments. I am pleased with the product and service, great job! I hope your business will continue to thrive.

Yes, it can be played! The sound is similar to plucking a Jew's harp without putting it in your mouth.
