Step aside, bland bouquets and prim petals—this centerpiece rides in with the swagger of a Friday night rodeo and the soul of the Lone Star State.
If you’ve ever wanted to throw a dinner party that smells like mesquite and feels like a tumbleweed might roll through, this is your showstopper.

Twin oil pump jacks flank the scene like mechanical gatekeepers of Texas ingenuity--they're gritty, grand, and grounded in history, turning this table scene into a full-blown homage to the Republic’s lifeblood: black gold.
Smack-dab in the center, perched on a stack of bark and stone, sits a proud, possibly perplexed armadillo—the unofficial mascot of Texas backroads and roadside lore. It’s quirky, sculptural, and gives this centerpiece a sense of humor and soul.

Lay the Foundation

Start with the colors that say it all—red, white, and blue—in a stylized tribute to the Texas flag.
- Lay a white tablecloth as your base, then stretch a horizontal red burlap runner across the center.
- In the center, build a platform for the armadillo star of your scene.
- Start by spreading a single layer of stone, slate, or marble chips on the table runner to establish a natural, textured base.
- Center two 5–6" birch wood discs, side by side, and place a larger 7–8" disc on top to create` a stable, elevated platform.
- Scatter additional stone chips to blend the edges and enhance the rugged, desert-inspired look.
- Remove 6 sprigs of faux grass from the center of one of the 10" plastic grass squares.
- Hot glue each sprig to a stone chip and arrange them naturally on the wood platform for a wild, prairie vibe.
Set the Scene

Now the magic happens. Layer in personality, balance, and that signature Texas flair.
- Place your armadillo front and center on the wood-and-stone platform.
- Angle him slightly for a more natural, in-motion feel.
- Set a 10" plastic grass square to the left and right of the armadillo base.
- Position an oil pumpjack on each grass mat—these towering steel titans become the centerpiece’s dramatic bookends.
- Fill your cowboy boot vases with bluebonnets and red wildflowers—they’ll bring color, charm, and unmistakable Texan energy.
- Nestle each boot between the pumpjack and the armadillo, slightly angled inward to frame the scene.
- This centerpiece is fully reversible, so every guest gets a front-row seat to the Lone Star spectacular.
Guest Experience
