Easy "Pumpkin" Cheeseball Hors d'oeuvre
Boost the fall party fun with creative surprises & treats to delight your guests.
These pumpkin-shaped cheeseballs feature a little spice to warm the palate in contrast to the cool autumn weather and make adorable additions to the appetizer menu.
Prep Time: 1 hour
Chill Time: 4 hours
Yield: 3o Pumpkin Cheeseballs
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz spreadable chive & onion cream cheese
- 2 cups fine shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped nuts
- peanuts, pecans, or almonds
- Pretzel sticks, broken in half
- Pieces of fresh parsley leaves
Directions
- Mix cheeses together with electric mixer until well-beaten.
- Add spices and mix well.
- Line cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Using 1 tablespoon increments, roll cheese mixture into balls.
- Place in refrigerator until firm (about 4 hours)
- Re-roll cheese balls to make smooth.
- Use a toothpick to make segment line indentions.
- TIP: Place a toothpick in the top to keep the lines straight.
- Dip the bottom into the chopped nuts.
- Return to refrigerator until ready to serve.
To Serve
Add pretzel sticks & parsley to the tops to form stems.
