Q: I self built kerosene (look like) lantern lights for the exterior walls of my fashionable horse barn. They work and everyone things their charming and western looking. But they leak terribly against the rain and the bulbs quickly burn out. The bulbs are the flickering amber lights that look like a lantern flame but are of course electric. My question - are you Hurricane Lantern weather-proof? How well do they seal off the rain and will the bulb last long?

A: The manufacturer states that it is for indoor/outdoor use. Upon closer inspection, it does not appear to be sealed for use in extreme weather conditions. The bulb is LED, and under normal usage will equate to many years of service.
