From Wikipedia:  Baron Samedi (Baron Saturday) is a Haitian voodoo spirit usually depicted as a skeleton dressed in a black top hat, tail coat and dark glasses. Known for outrageous behavior, swearing continuously, and making filthy jokes, he is a loa of the dead and resurrection; when someone dies he digs there grave and leads them to the underworld, but he can also heal anyone approaching death by refusing to dig their grave.

Mr. Bones is likely a lesser spirit that dresses like his master, the Baron, is just as rude and crude, and helps carry the dead to the underworld.
