Bring coastal charisma to your table with this epic lighthouse centerpiece scene for summer soirees, seaside weddings, and nautical dinner parties.
This transportive setup invites wonder, tells a story, and creates a full sensory moment (minus the seagull poop).

An entire fleet of uniquely styled lighthouses transforms the centerpiece into a coastal storybook, with each tower showing off its own textures, colors, and seaside personality.
Suspended clouds hover above the scene, adding unexpected height and whimsy that turn the tablescape into a dreamy, immersive skyscape.
Layered wood-slice risers evoke rocky shorelines and windswept coastal meadows, grounding the display with organic texture and natural seaside charm.

Make Fluffy Clouds

- To recreate this layered, storytelling design we start with fluffy white clouds.
- Cut a 1" x 1" x 4" section of white craft foam for each cloud center.
- Optional: Shave corners to turn the block into a rounded cylinder shape.
- Tear/cut chunks of polyfill, then hot glue them around the foam core.
- Add layers with varied density—fluff, press, fill gaps until you form a natural cloud shape.
- Gently shake the cloud to let the fibers fall into place for a more organic look.
- Make three clouds and three associated wire supports.
Wire the Weather

- To float the clouds, use 14-gauge (or heavier) wire for strength.
- Each support will be anchored directly into a wood disc rock island.
- Cut each wire to 28–30 inches long; you'll trim to the final height after straightening.
Straighten & Paint

- To straighten the wire, secure one end of the wire in a vise.
- If you don't have a vise, attach the wire to a stationary object.
- Chuck the other end of the wire into a drill.
- Turn on the drill at slow or moderate speed.
- Keep tension on the wire while it is spinning.
- Spin until straight and remove.
- Sand & paint each wire support with matte black paint to reduce visibility.
Build Rock Islands

- For the center lighthouse island, paint and stack two 7–8" birch wood slices.
- For each of the six side islands, stack one 7–8" slice with a 5–6" slice on top.
- Let the gray, peeling bark mimic craggy seaside bluffs.
- Spray paint each wood disc from directly above using hunter green spray paint.
- Focus on the tops for a grassy effect.
- Let light overspray naturally mist the sides for a mossy rock appearance.
- Optional: Add neon green paint in thin patches for extra depth and texture.
- Hot glue each set of discs together to create stable island bases.
- For cloud placement later, drill a 3/32" hole toward the back edge of three island sets.
Set the Scene

- To set the scene, begin with a royal blue satin table cover to evoke deep ocean water.
- Arrange the 7 lighthouse islands down the center of your table.
- Position each lighthouse on its island, varying height, color, and style to add visual interest.
- Place a lobster trawler and two sailboats "in the water" between lighthouse islands.
- Insert each wire support into the pre-drilled holes in your wood disc islands.
- Top each support with one of the fluffy white clouds.
- Trim wire support to adjust height as needed and glue into place.
Guest Experience

- Use gray cloth napkins to complement the natural textures and enhance the scene without drawing focus.
- Use an angled pocket fold to reflect the simple, clean design of the lighthouses.
- Tuck the silverware into each napkin to become its own structured platform.
Reverse View

- The reverse view continues the narrative, ensuring no guest is left out of this coastal escape.
