Seascape in 5 Parts

- Grab your snorkel & glue gun and let's dive into creating this seascape in 5 parts:
- Octopus Focal Point
- Fish in Bubbles
- Garden Spots
- Drifting Jellyfish
- Flanking Accents
Octopus Focal Point

- Every underwater tableau needs a star, and it's undoubtedly the regal purple octopus.
- Give the octopus a commanding position with a metallic gold pillar candlestick or pedestal.
- Create a flat base for the octopus with a 3" diameter wood-craft disc and floral wire.
- Drill eight 1/16" holes around the center; it does not have to be precise.
- Paint the wood disc metallic gold.
- Optionally, paint the floral wire light purple to match the octopus.
- Thread the floral wire through the disc base, around an octopus leg, and back through the adjacent hole in the base.
- Twist ends together loosely, and repeat with 3 more octopus legs.
- Level & adjust the position of the wood disc, then tighten the twisted ends to hold in place.
- Hot glue the wood disc base & octopus to the pillar candlestick pedestal.
- If necessary, glue additional wood discs to the base to fill the recessed top of the candle holder.
- Alternatively, you may use a glass or mirror candle plate to create a platform for the octopus.
Fish in Bubbles

- Next we'll add a cast of supporting sea creatures starting with a glitzy, beaded angelfish.
- Mount the angelfish onto the fluttering silver sequins spray to simulate shimmering bubbles.
- To hold the fish in place and at the correct angle, clip off the bottom branch of the sequin spray.
- Use this separate piece of stem to hold the fish in position..
- With the bottom of the stem pointing up, bend the wire to make an L-shape for the fish mount.
- Bind the mount to the main stem of the sequin spray with the attached sequin wire and/or floral wire.
- Use a sharp object to make a small hole in the bottom of the angelfish, slightly angled toward the head.
- Adjust and glue the angelfish onto the L-shaped wire mount.
Garden Spots

- Anchor the scene with a vibrant, glittering coral reef built with 3 separate garden spots.
- Each garden spot is made from a base of foam on wood rectangles.
- We used 1 large craft foam & 2 small floral foam sizes with wood rectangles to fit as listed above, but you can use any size.
- Hot glue foam to the wood rectangles and paint metallic gold.

- Place the teal-green coral chunk prominently on the largest garden-spot foam rectangle at the front.
- Mark the coral chunk placement & orientation on the painted foam base.
- Fill in with snippets of these aquatic-themed floral picks & sprays:
- Metallic Aqua Fern Leaf Pick
- Glittered Fan-Coral Pick - Aqua & Coral
- Branch Coral Pick - Aqua, Sand, & Coral
- Glittered Intricate Cedar Pick - Rose
- Fluttering Shiny Silver Sequins Pick
- Glittered Seagrass Pick - Green
- Artificial Protea Blossoms
- Periodically arrange all centerpiece elements to assess the best placement for floral picks, ensuring optimal visibility and balance.
- Glue the coral chunk in place when you are ready to set the centerpiece.
- Note: Photo shows front (left) and back (right).

- Assemble the 2 smaller garden spots for the rear, positioning them on each side of the octopus centerpiece.
- Also, remember these 2 garden spots will be the front of the centerpiece for the opposite side of the table.
- Start by adding the mounted fish-in-bubbles in the foam to be placed center-right (facing forward).
- Finish by filling in each garden spot with snippets of the floral picks & sprays front and back, as shown.
- Note: Photos show front (left) and back (right) from the opposite side of the table.
Drifting Jellyfish

- To float the jellyfish, we'll use a 14-gauge (or heavier) wire support in a 12" Eiffel tower vase (or similar).
- For a 25-inch wire support, cut a length of 28-30 inches.

- To straighten the wire, secure one end of the wire in a vise.
- If you don't have a vise, attach the wire to a stationary object.
- Chuck the other end of the wire into a drill.
- Turn on the drill at slow or moderate speed.
- Keep tension on the wire while it is spinning.
- Spin until straight and remove.

- Cut the wire down to approximately 25", then bend one-inch of either end to make a right angle (L-shape).
- Insert the L-shaped end into the Eiffel tower vase and fill with white pearl bead necklaces.
- Necklaces make better vase fill because they won't spill and scatter.
- If necessary, cut the necklaces into strands.
- Secure the jellyfish to the top of the wire support when ready to set the centerpiece.
Flanking Accents

- Extend the centerpiece across the table with flanking mini vase arrangements to complement the display.
- Cut two 1.5" cubes of floral foam, and glue to the center of each 3" cube glass vase.
- Separately, fill each cube vase with metallic purple and blue bead necklaces.
- Create mini arrangements with the aquatic-themed floral picks.
- Top with more bead necklaces, as needed.
Set the Scene

- For a foundation, mimic glittering sand with a gold lame runner across a rich, ocean-like turquoise satin table covering.
- Fill tall clear Eiffel tower vases with colorful purple, turquoise, & blue beads.
- Create height & movement with coral fern fronds, glittered seagrass, & metallic fern leaves rising from each vase.
- Place the octopus center-rear, then arrange foam garden spots, jellyfish, vases, & sea turtles
- Add sugar starfish accents & flanking mini arrangements to complete your octopus garden seascape.
Guest Experience

- Tie the centerpiece scene to the table settings with bold, royal blue napkins folded into elegant bows.
- Secure napkins with alternating purple & turquoise bead necklaces.
- Layer gold chargers beneath the dinnerware for that extra splash of luxury.
- Finish each place setting with shimmering metallic gold cutlery.
Reverse View

- The reverse view mirrors the centerpiece's symmetry, intricate detail, & layered depth.
- Each seat provides a unique perspective on the design and its elements.
Invest in distinctive centerpieces to create lasting impressions because no one will talk about the flowers tomorrow.
