Under The Sea Dinner Decorating

Combine natural sea life elements with ocean blue & teal to create a dramatic under the sea centerpiece. Or use stylish and artful pieces that symbolize the beauty of underwater life to impress your guests with a more subtle, understated approach.

Ocean Themed Centerpiece
Submerge your guests in a serene underwater scene to cool them off. Start with a cloth of aqua or sea green to invoke the ocean, then top with a strip of natural burlap as surrogate sand.
Add large starfish, mollusk, scallop and conch shells around an intricate white coral centerpiece. What's missing? Your favorite sea creatures, of course. Simulate a bale of sea turtle hatchlings scampering toward the sea for a creative twist.
Add the shimmer of the ocean water and beach glass with metallic teal confetti. Then, add continuity with beverage napkins of baby sea turtles in each white or blue plate, charger or place setting and salt & pepper shakers made from real sea shells. Metallic teal beads wrapped around aqua dinner napkins make excellent napkin rings that your guests can wear.

Artistic Interpretation
Create a slightly formal setting with sea life icons of a seahorse, starfish, and nautilus shell, painted with antique silver foil finish and mounted on black wood stands. Choose from real shell or other unique under the sea salt & pepper shakers.
Add the colors of the sea with blue, frosted, and teal votive candle holders. Let your guests know they can have fun with a few sprinkles of metallic sea life confetti of starfish, waves, seahorses, shells, and fish confetti.
Go all out with decorations for the bar including a bright white coral chunk. Add accents of colorful tropical fish displays of the Moorish Idol, Powder Blue Tang, and Blue Butterfly fish.
Hang a jellyfish wind chime for a truly unique and memorable "underwater" decoration, along with sea turtle or sea shell string lights. Serve cocktails with teal or blue ocean color beverage napkins.
